Setting Up In 4 Easy Steps
Now comes the real work. Once you know what you are allowed to do at your school, once you have decided on the rules you are going to use, and once you have your trusted moderators assembled, you have to put the time in to get the game ready for your players.
This section has four parts:
- Planning your game - Making a calendar, setting up missions and managing game length
- Writing a plot - Optional, but adds to the fun
- Hosting your game online - Options for running your game
- Advertising - How to market your game and register players
HvZ Moderator Cody Sumter estimates the amount of time he spends planning in advance for HvZ with his team of moderators:
2 months out: an hour a day
1 month out: two hours a day
2 weeks out: 3 hours a day
1 week out: 4 hours a day
